STEP Education in Jersey
The STEP Diploma is recognised worldwide as the benchmark qualification for those working in the international trusts arena, and provides a practical approach to the issues that arise in the international trusts industry, and an overview of the legislation, principles and practices in your local jurisdiction and internationally.
The course comprises four Advanced Certificates, that each take 4-6 months to complete.
As part of the STEP Qualifications and Membership Framework (QMF), applicants will be required to have gained 60 Entry Level credits prior to enrolling. Entry Level credits can be gained through completion of Entry Level Certificates and/or accreditation of prior certificated or experiential learning. It is recommended that applicants have, as a minimum, knowledge of the basic principles of trust law and practice.
About the STEP Certificate in Jersey
The STEP Certificate is the entry level qualification available for anyone over the age of 16 years old to study in Jersey. This is a crunch course exam which gives students a good introduction to the Fiduciary world and serves as a platform from which to move onto the Diploma Course.
The Certificate also gives credits to Students which count towards their full STEP Memberships which other introductory finance courses and qualifications do not.
About the STEP Diploma in Jersey
The STEP Diploma is the next level up from the Certificate and individuals are required to have gained 60 credits or be a Member of STEP in order to qualify to undertake this next phase.

The 4 courses are spread over 2 years – or 2 1/2 years with the Certificate and you can order the way in which you take the papers.

Continuous Professional Development (“CPD”)
As well as assisting towards your career development as a STEP member you are required to undertake Continuous Professional Development (CPD) as part of your STEP Membership.
The STEP Jersey Webinars, Seminars and Events are geared towards assisting STEP Members not only to keep up to date with topical issues and current best practice all but also to contribute to annual CPD requirements. As such all STEP Jersey Professional Events are CPD accredited and you should maintain a record of your attendance at STEP Events to evidence your annual CPD.
